A Virtual Retreat with Brother Mickey McGrath
Monday, Oct 27, 1 - 4pm Eastern Time (convert to your timezone here)
Join artist and author Brother Mickey McGrath as he shares his art and stories focusing on the body of Christ in the margins of our Church, society, and world.
Brother Mickey will share his own sketches and encounters with the many homeless people who come to his home in Camden, NJ for a cup of coffee and kind conversation—and who have given him a new awareness of Christ at the Kitchen Door. Additionally, Brother Mickey will offer a fresh look at saints and holy people whose lives were dedicated to serving the underserved and oppressed—including Frances Cabrini, Dorothy Day, Oscar Romero, Thea Bowman, Nicholas Black Elk, and Popes John XXIII and Francis.
All seekers and artists will find inspiration in this prayerful and playful creative experience. Participants are invited to bring their own artistic supplies–paper, pencils, crayons, or markers–to use during the retreat. This three-hour retreat registration is $45; discounts or scholarships are available in special cases. Must be registered and logged into Monasteries of the Heart to sign up. The full recording of the retreat will be shared afterward with those who register for this retreat, and will be available for three months.
